Description
King crowned, standing facing in ship, holding sword and quartered shield, rose on hull, flag at stern, Rev. Rose at centre of floriated cross, terminals ending in lis, crown over lion over trefoil in each angle, within beaded and linear tressures of eight arcs, trefoils in spandrels, 7.68g/10h. (N. 1549; S. 1951). A bold Good Very Fine, with some parts nearer to Extremely Fine. A much rarer type than the catalogues suggest. Graffito to obverse at 1h, two light scrapes in third quarter of reverse.
