The Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria was celebrated on 20 and 21 June 1887 to mark the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession on 20 June 1837. It was celebrated with a Thanksgiving Service at Westminster Abbey and with a banquet to which fifty European kings and princes were invited. We are proud to present one of the most desirable Victorian historical medals, the Golden Jubilee medal, prized for its artistry of astonishing quality. The medal is displaying the matte devices rising in sharp contrast against mirrored fields earning the Ultra Cameo designation by NGC. This imposing medal weighs 86 grams and only 944 pieces of this type were struck in gold. A stunning artwork of Victorian imperial majesty.
