George VI (1936-52), Gold proof Set, four coin set issued in 1937, Coronation year, Five Pounds, Two Pounds, Sovereign and Half-Sovereign, with bare head of King left, HP raised below for designer Humphrey Paget, legend and outer border surrounding, GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP. Rev, Saint George slaying the dragon right, date in exergue, B.P. to upper right of exergue for Benedetto Pistrucci, edges plain, housed in original maroon Royal Mint case. Mintage 5,501 (S.PS15; W&R: 435,437,439, 442). As struck, light reddish tone. Only the slightest of hairlines. A delightful set.
