Description
Victoria (1837–1901) Pattern Farthing in gold 1887, by L.C. Lauer for A Weyl, 6.05gm. Crowned and draped bust left, rev. Royal arms in cruciform within a spandril of 12 arcs, flowers in angles, edge plain. (Peck-2200; Freeman-935; BMC 2200). As struck, previously graded by PCGS as ‘PR 63 CAM’, believed to be unique by Freeman).

Conceived by the German dealer Adolph Weyl and struck by the Lauer firm at Nüremberg, this design was offered to the Royal Mint, who declined to take it on.
