Description
Crowned bust facing with a sceptre with the legend reading HENRICVS REX. Rev, voided short cross with quatrefoil in each angle with the legend reading HENRICVS O [N] RULAN, 1.32gm (N. 973/3). Choice Good Very Fine, slightly crimped and legend weakly struck in parts, nevertheless a strong example for type, very rare.
Connection to Llywelyn Ap Iorwerth, Prince of Gwynedd, worthy of further research.
Found by a detectorist early 2024 in Llanor, Gwynedd, Wales. PAS ID WREX-7DF4F1.
