Ottoman Empire, Libya, ‘Abd al-Hamid (AH 1187-1203 / 1774-1789 AD), gold Zeri Mahbub, Trablus Gharb (Tripoli), AH 1191 / 1777/8 AD, 2.60g (KM 56; Pere 67c; ICV 3415 – this coin). Extremely Fine, extremely rare. Only a couple of examples are known to have come to the market in the last 20 years. Small scratch to 3 o’clock on the obverse.&nbsp;Ex. Sultan Collection, lot 1382. This coin is illustrated in Islamic Coins and Their Values (Tim Wilkes), Volume 2, ICV 3415, pg. 38.
