1551/53, Tower mint, mm – y. Crowned and draped facing bust, rose to left, denomination to right, rev. Long cross fourchée, over square-topped arms. 2.84gm. Another the same but officially centrally pierced in 1696 as part of the ‘Great Recoinage’, 2.85gm. (N 1937; S.2482), [2] Both approaching Very Fine, second with small flan split.
