Description
Head of the deified Alexander the Great right, wearing the horn of Ammon. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ – ΛΥΣΙΜΑXΟΥ, Athena enthroned left, holding Nike, shield decorated with Medusa’s head resting against base of throne, torch to K and crescent. (Thompson 59). Among the finest style portraits in the series. Pleasing cabinet tone. A couple of marks, otherwise Good Very Fine and struck on a large flan.
