Late Anglo‑Saxon / Viking (c. AD 1000) Stirrup Mount, copper‑alloy (51.5 x 33mm, 31.67g). A complete copper-alloy stirrup mount with a loop and two rivet-holes. Mount decorated with stylised sinuous beasts and skeletal ‘tree’ motifs, resembling a skeleton and often described as a ‘skeletal beast’, with a zoomorphic terminal at the top. (Williams Class D, type 108‑110). Pleasing green patina. An attractive piece.
