India, Sikh Empire, Ranjit Singh (VS 1858‑1896 / 1801‑1839 AD), silver Rupee, dually dated VS 1891/1892 (1835/6 AD), mule issue, Peshawar mint, struck under Hari Singh Nalwa, Gobindshahi couplet, VS date to lower left. Rev. Mint and date formula, peepal leaf, VS date across field, 8.49g (approx. Herr. 13.02.04). About Extremely Fine, extremely rare mule coin.
Footnote
Peshawar was annexed by Ranjit Singh in 1835 and his General was made acting governor with the right to strike his own coins. These were struck for only four years: VS 1891, 1892, 1893 and 1894, making them extremely rare and the mules such as this coin ever rarer.
