Scotland, Charles I (1625‑1649). AR 12 Shillings struck 1637‑1642. Third coinage, Intermediate issue, type II. Edinburgh mint. Crowned, cuirassed and draped bust left; XII to right, thistle at end of legend, rev. Crowned Royal Arms dividing C R, thistle above crown, QVE DEVS CONIVNXIT NEMO SEPERET, What God has put together, let no man put asunder. 5.82gm. (SCBI 35 [Ashmolean & Hunterian] 1458‑9; SCBC 5559). Good Very Fine or better, well struck and evenly toned.
