Description
Crowned bust left. Rev, a panorama of the bombardment of Liège, with cannon firing on the city (Eimer 396; MI 241/26). About Extremely Fine, rev. better, dark mottled tone.
Footnote
As well as Liège, captured by Marlborough, the medal commemorates his capture of Venloo, Roermond [Ruremond], and Stevensweert, but importantly also the capture of Kaiserswerth by the Prince of Nassau-Saabrück and the first city to fall.
