Description
Facing crowned bust in tressure of arches, open crown, fleurs on cusps, fleurs on breast, none above crown, saltires at neck, reading HENRICVS and FR, rev. Long cross with trio of pellets in each angle, saltire stop after POSVI, trefoil after DEVM (Potter and Winstanley die 2, reverse III‑see p.269; N 1703; S 2194). Clipped, otherwise Very Fine / about Very Fine, toned, a scarce obverse legend reading ‑ Potter and Winstanley only knew of 6 coins with the die 2 obverse and class III reverse. SCBI 23/126 has the same reverse as this coin.
