Robert Smith is a Lead Philatelic Specialist at SGB whose areas of expertise include philately from the British Empire and Commonwealth.
Having first completed a degree in Information Technology from Nelson Mandela University (formerly Port Elizabeth Technikon) in South Africa, Robert joined the company in 2001, and considers his particular strengths to be in the stamps of British Africa.
During his time at SGB, Robert has played a key role in bringing several notable collections to auction, including the Arnhold Collection, the Dr Arnold Brickman of Rhodesia Double Heads, the ‘Hay Morgan’ Collection Parts 1-3 and the Collection of the Former Singapore Philatelic Museum Parts 1 & 2.
Robert is an active member of the BPA Expertising Ltd, the Royal Philatelic Society of London and the American Philatelic Society.
