Description
The Indian Mutiny Medal awarded to William Emmony 3rd Battalion Rifle Brigade comprising Indian Mutiny Medal 1857-58, one clasp Lucknow, (Wm. Emmony 3rd Bn. Rifle Bde), very fine (1)
Willaim Emmony was born c. 1833 in Bedford and was a clicker before he enlisted into the Rifle Brigade on the 8th of November 1855 at Northampton aged 21 and 9/12 years. Between the 12th November 1855 and the 30th September 1856 Rifle Brigade Barracks and between the 13th January 1862 to 7th June 1867 posted to the 3rd Battalion Rifle Brigade. He had diseases 4 times during his service of 11 years and 24 days achieving the ranks of Corporal and Sergent but being reduced to private. He was discharged from the Rifle Brigade on the 13th of June 1867 due to his medical record stating unfit for further Military Service.
