1847-54 1s green, just touched to large margins, on entire letter tied by Dumbarton "110" numeral addressed to "Captain Lindsay of the 'Rothsay Castle', Barbados", the front annotated "Per Royal Mail/Steamer" and Barbados "MY ??/1853" arrival ds, the reverse with overlapped dispatch of Dumbarton and London transit cancels; containing interesting contents regarding the possible sale of Rothsay Castle. An unusual destination. SG 55   
   
Footnote: This entire was carried on the 'Parana' from Southampton (departed 2nd May) for St Thomas (arrived 17th) then transferred to the 'Derwent' (departed 17th) to Barbados (arrived 21st).
