Following his defeat in Fantastic Four #144, Doctor Doom and the Sub-Mariner duke it out in the Atlantic Ocean. Flashback cameos by the Fantastic Four, Darkoth, Shalla Bal, and the Silver Surfer. First reprint story: "In the Darkness Dwells Doom!". Story by Roy Thomas, pencils by John Buscema and inks by Johnny Craig. While running from the police, the Sub-Mariner seeks shelter in the Latverian Embassy. Of course he meets Doctor Doom...who else? Story originally published in Sub-Mariner #20.
